Royston Maldoom supervised four young choreographers from Vienna in the Community Dance project. For two months, 120 students from various types of schools left routine classroom work behind to train with other dancers from different social service organizations in Vienna. The dancers were divided into four groups which met twice a week to train with local professional choreographers. Four contemporary dance pieces were created and set to music written for the project by Bernhard Fleischmann [www.bfleischmann.com].

In mid-April the four groups of dancers came together for daily rehearsals. Under the direction of Royston Maldoom, the artistic adviser of “Tanz die Toleranz” [Dance the Tolerance], the four parts were united – cross-linked [querverbunden]…
