
Janice Parker
Janice Parker is an independent dance artist who has worked in the field of community dance for over 25years in a variety of capacities including dance artist in residence, project manager, administrator, choreographer and producer. She has worked in many contexts and situations with many different people. Currently the focus of her work is in collaboration with people with a learning disability. She has created a number of films and live performances and has recently produced a publication ‘Take a Look at What is Actually There’. Janice is based in Edinburgh, Scotland and works both nationally and internationally. She is a current recipient of a Scottish Arts Council pARTners residency to create work with people with complex learning disabilities, is creating a new large scale work in Hamburg with 40 performers and has just completed a dance for camera film with traveller dance and X-Factor Dance Company. Janice is a core group participant of the Working in Public Seminar Series with On The Edge research, is a member of the Public Art Policy reference group for the Scottish Arts Council and was the recipient of a Creative Scotland Award in 2005.Her close collaboration with Royston has already spanned 25 years.Royston Maldoom
